Do you need a tutor? Only you can answer that question, but please keep in mind that tutoring gives you or your child the extra edge needed to succeed in your studies. For the gifted student, tutoring reinforces and advances the knowledge of a particular subject. For a student having problems in a particular subject, tutoring can do wonders by way of clarifying and reinforcing concepts. This results in greater self-confidence for the student and a much better chance to succeed. If you are the head of an agency, consider the public contact that your agency has. Is there a need for employees to communicate with a major portion of the population? Do you depend on one or two employees to handle all language situations? What if someone with knowledge of a particular foreign language isn't available when you really need her or him? Wouldn't it be better if all your employees had basic communication skills in a particular foreign language? Such knowledge could well avoid tense situations based on language barriers.

How about tutoring in the summer? Students who receive tutoring in the summer do not forget what they have learned during the school year. Thus, there is little, if any time spent at the beginning of a new year trying to remember necessary points to successfully continue studies in a particular subject.

Tutoring is particularly helpful in foreign languages. This is because foreign language skills are extremely use-oriented. The more you practice a foreign language, the better you will be at it. Additionally, studies have shown that people have an innate ability to easily learn a foreign language up to age 12. During these early years, the brain can form learning pathways more readily than in later years. This is why, for example, an individual from a non-English-speaking country who comes to the United States before age 12 will most likely be able to speak English as a native, where those who come later in life will have some difficulty, depending on their language skills. So, for a child youngest than 12, tutoring is an excellent way to promote native pronunciation and use of a foreign language. For older folks, tutoring is of great assistance in overcoming the brain's reticence in learning something new.

Another excellent way to learn a language is by taking conversation classes. These focus more on vocabulary and communication than on correct grammar. Conversation classes are excellent if you plan to travel, have friends who speak a foreign language, or want to communicate with people of other cultures with whom you have contact at work or in other aspects of daily living. I tailor my conversation classes to your specific needs. Thus, if you work in the health care industry, your classes will be specific to your occupation. On the other hand, if you plan to travel, I will tailor your classes to what you need to know when you travel.

For better results I recommend students take twice classes weekly. Average students will be speaking, writing and reading conversationally in few months based on these two hourly lessons per week.
